2 SECTION PLINTH [MODELS CA3010 AND CA3015] OPERATORS MANUAL The 2 Section Plinth is a general purpose variable height plinth ideal for a wide range of uses. The plinth is available with either electric (push button hand switch or foot switch) or hydraulic (foot pump) height control. WHEEL SYSTEM To engage the wheel system, the levers at both ends of the plinth must be firmly depressed by foot (this can be done from either side of the plinth). To release the wheel system, place foot beneath the levers and flick upwards (this can be done from either side of the plinth). INSTALLATION Having unpacked the plinth and moved it to its area of use, the wheel system should be released. To enable the plinth to stand level on any surface an adjustable foot has been positioned in one corner. Turn the foot until the plinth sits firm on the floor. Caution: ensure that the wheel system is disengaged before use. HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT BA-O2 Hydraulic: The plinth can be raised by continually depressing and releasing the pedals positioned near to the column section. To lower, place your foot under the pedal and lift it upwards. The plinth will slowly descend under its own weight (and that of the patient) and will stop at its lowest point, or when the pedal is released. BA-O2 Electric: Ensure that the mains lead and hand switch/foot switch cable are not tangled around the frame of the plinth and fit the mains plug into a suitable mains supply socket. The plinth can be raised and lowered by pushing the appropriate buttons on your chosen control (hand switch/foot switch/ remote) RAISING AND LOWERING THE HEAD SECTION The head section is adjustable from 25° negative to 85° positive by means of a single ratchet mechanism, or by means of a gas power assisted spring. Section with ratchet mechanism: To raise, lift the upholstered section to the required angle. It will lock into position when released. To lower, both hands are required. Grip the section with one hand. With your other hand push the ratchet handle towards the upholstery to release the lock. Lower the section to the required angle then release the ratchet handle to lock the section into position. Section with gas power assisted spring: To raise, both hands are required. Grip the section with one hand. With your other hand push the lever towards the upholstery and the section will rise unassisted. Once the section has been guided to the required angle release the lever and the section will lock in that position. To lower, both hands are required. Grip the section with one hand. With your other hand push the lever towards the upholstery and apply downward pressure to the section. The section will lower under your assistance. When the required angle has been reached, release the lever and the lock will engage. Caution: never try to adjust the head section in any way other than that described above.
