Intended to Use This handpiece is designed only for dental treatment use.
Caution · When operating the handpiece always consider the safety of the patient. · Do not attempt to disassemble the handpiece nor tamper with the mechanism. · Check for vibration, noise and overheating outside the patient’s mouth. If any abnormalities are found do not operate. Contact authorized dealer for service. · Should the handpiece runs abnormally, cease operation immediately and return the handpiece to an authorized dealer for repair. · Do not exceed the rotation speed shown in Specifications. · Depressing the push-button while handpiece bur is in rotation will result in OVERHEATING of the handpiece head. Special caution must be exercised during use to keep cheek tissue AWAY from the push-button of the handpiece. Contact with cheek tissue may cause the push-button to depress and injury to the patient may occur. · Do not allow any impact on to the handpiece. Do not drop the handpiece. · Always keep bur shanks clean. Dirt or debris in a chuck could cause poor bur concentricity or low chuck retention force. · Remove the bur or handpiece only after it has completely stopped rotating. · Do not use long surgical burs. Do not use burs longer than 26mm. · Do not wipe nor immerse the handpiece in acidic water or acidic solutions. · Perform periodical maintenance checks. · If the handpiece has not been used for a long period, check for noise, vibration, and overheating before use. · Refer to the coupling manual for connecting it to the handpiece hose.

2. Connection / Disconnection the Handpiece First make sure the manufacture’s coupling is firmly attached to the handpiece tubing and the drive air pressure is correct. For detail, refer to the coupling manual.
Caution Check tightness at the connection between the coupling and the handpiece.

Caution Test that the bur is secure by gently pulling and pushing the bur without depressing the Push Button.

Cautions for Bur Usage
· Do not use non-standard burs. The ISO standard shank diameter is ø1.59 - ø1.60 mm. · Do not use bent, worn, damaged, or non-concentric burs. · Always use within the bur manufacturer's recommended allowable speed. · Always use clean burs. Uncleaned burs may allow debris to build up inside chuck, causing weak bur retention or premature chuck wear. · Insert the bur all the way into the chuck until it stops with the push-button fully depressed. · Do not use short shank burs in Standard or Torque head handpiece.
5. Lubrication All handpieces can be cleaned and disinfected with a thermo disinfector.
All handpieces can be autoclavable up to Max.135°C.

Spray Nozzle Insert the Spray Nozzle to lubricant spray and handpiece backend

Automated Clean and lubricate handpieces with NSK Care3 Plus. Be sure to use a right adaptor for each handpiece. Refer to the Care3 Plus Operation Manual for detail.

Keep pressing the push button to open the chuck and lubricate chuck directly thorough the hole for bur.
Caution · Be sure to hold the handpiece firmly to prevent the handpiece from slipping out by the spray pressure when lubricating. · Keep the NSK PANA SPRAY Plus / PANA SPRAY can upright. · Use of lubricants other than NSK’s Spray can cause excessive heat generation and possible handpiece damage. · Perform Chuck Cleaning at least once a week.

6. Sterilization • Autoclave sterilization is recommended. • Sterilization is required first time you use and after each patient as noted below. Autoclave Procedure 1) Scrub dirt and debris from the handpiece, and wipe clean with alcohol-immersed cotton swab or cloth. Do not use a wire brush. 2) Lubricate the handpiece. (Refer to 5. Lubrication) 3) Insert into an autoclave pouch. Seal the pouch. 4) Autoclavable up to max. 135˚C. ex.) Autoclave for 20 min. at 121˚C, or 15 min. at 132˚C. 5) Keep the handpiece in the autoclave pouch to keep it clean until you use it.
Caution · Do not heat or cool the handpiece quickly. Rapid change in temperature could break the glass rod give abnormal strain to other metals. · The color may be slightly faded by repeated sterilization. (X650K L)

Returen the Bulb Holder to the handpiece and Tighten the Taper Ring. Optional Bulb : TA Bulb (Pack of 3) Order No.Y900132
Caution · Do not touch the glass section of new Bulb. · Screw the Taper Ring tightly. A loose fitting Taper Ring could result in water and air leakage. It is easier to screw in the Taper Ring when the bulb holder is lightly pressed in by hand.
8. Cleaning the Celluar Glass Rod Optic Wipe clean the Cellular Glass Rod Optic Entry and Exit Point with an alcohol-immersed cotton swab.

Caution Do not use a sharp tool to clean the cellular glass optic rod. It could damage the glass and reduce the light transmission. If illumination becomes dim please contact your dealer.
